In celebration of National Foster Family Week which took place from October 16-22 this year, Highland Shores Children’s Aid (HSCA) recognized their foster and kin families as well as their volunteers.
On October 17th, a recognition event was held in Cobourg. Tracey and Norm Lott from Hastings County were honoured for their 10 years of service as foster parents and Ed and Charlene Clarke from Northumberland County were honoured for their fifteen years fostering children.
A recognition dinner was also held on October 20th at the Banquet Centre in Belleville. Elisabeth and Mark Hymus from South Hastings were provided with the Foster Parent Recruitment Award. Foster parents Walter and Karin Eberhardt, also from South Hastings, were recognized for 20 years of service and Penny Harris from South Hastings and Larry and Fiona Ypma from Prince Edward County were recognized for 15 years of service as foster parents. Larry and Donna Howard and Ed and Elaine Morris from South Hastings were recognized for 10 years of service. Three volunteers from Hastings County were recognized for their long-service; David Pacaud, Carol Talmage and Danny Hogan with ten years of service each.
On October 21st an appreciation dinner was held in Bancroft to recognize the dedication and commitment of foster and kin parents as well as volunteers from the North Hastings area. Colleen & Jason Gear and Janine & John Krasnowski were honoured for 10 years of service as Foster Parents. Marcy & Dan Bazinet, Carolyn & Raymond McDougall, Jenny & Frank Riedl, Donna & Jim Thompson and Angela & Clint Warren were honoured for 5 years of service as foster parents. Kim Grenier, Jenny Riedl, Frank Riedl and Joan McHale were all honoured for 5 years of service as volunteer drivers.
