As a next step in the amalgamation process with Highland Shores Children’s Aid, the Children’s Aid Society of the County of Prince Edward has announced the make-up of its new Board of Directors and a transition of leadership at the Society.
The newly constituted PECAS Board includes the following individuals:
Darcey French, President
Karyn Kennedy, Vice-President
Elaine Philip, Past President
Phillip Peters, Treasurer
Jay Taugher, Secretary
Marilyn Curson
Lorraine Hyatt
Four additional members will be elected to the Board at a meeting to be held on November 28, 2012.
The Society also announced a transition in leadership for the organization. Effective today, Bill Sweet, Local Director, will be departing from the Society and Mark Kartusch, currently Executive Director of Highland Shores Children’s Aid will become Executive Director.
Recognizing Bill’s more than thirty years of service to the field of child welfare, PECAS Board Chair Darcey French commented that Mr. Sweet’s "dedication to the children, youth and families of the County has been seen in the many programs and services that developed under his leadership."
Newly appointed Executive Director, Mark Kartusch added, "I wish to recognize the many years of service that Bill has given to the children and families of Prince Edward County. I look forward to working with PECAS staff to build the confidence and support of the community. Together we will work to ensure that children and families receive the same opportunities to benefit from programs and services offered to those currently residing in the counties served by Highland Shores Children’s Aid."
